Getting dental veneers takes two visits, but the process is done fairly quickly once your teeth are prepped. Prepping your teeth will take place at your first visit. When we “prep” the teet, this refers to slightly shaving your teeth down. We do this to ensure that your veneers fit seamlessly on the surface of your teeth, properly covering them without worrying about the sides of your natural teeth sticking out behind the porcelain veneers. Once we prepare your teeth, we will take impressions and send them to our lab so that your custom veneers are designed to fit against the new shape of your teeth.
A couple of weeks later, you will see us for your second and final visit. At this visit, we will have your porcelain veneers ready and will fit them to your teeth. We might trim them slightly to ensure a perfect fit, and once you’re pleased, we will permanently bond them to your teeth. At the end of this appointment, you’ll walk out of our office with a brand new smile.
